It is with great pleasure that I finally type the words ‘welcome to the Mac-OU INC blog!’
What a journey implementing this blog has been. Much of my time since my arrival in November 2011 has been spent on cultivating the services we offer including new programming and seminar series, continuing with the Lean Diversification program, assisting with the implementation of the Executives-in-Residence program and working on committees to bring you the Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship and the Accelerate MI Innovation Competition. This first blog post is an incredibly satisfying milestone, as it demonstrates the improved efficiency and continuous growth of the incubator.
I invite you to follow the Mac-OU INC blog for all things entrepreneurial. Plan to read, and comment on, entries from incubator staff, event speakers and notable voices in Michigan’s entrepreneurial community. My hope is that this will truly be a resource for all of you following your entrepreneurial dreams.
For our small biz readers, what are your thoughts on blogging? Enter “why have a blog” in the Google search bar and the results will be vast, though very similar. Bottom line:
Companies that blog have 55% more website visitors (monthly)
B2C companies that blog generate 88% more leads per month
B2B companies that blog generate 67% more leads per month
I do realize the numbers state the ROI. However, my right brain has to consider the other blogging bonuses. Such as, I do have to admit my thrill in finding my writing “voice” once again!
Many thanks to all who helped us to get to this point, including Mac-OU INC staff, partner staff, clients, event attendees and all those who simply shed a smile or some words of kindness.
Enjoy.

Oh geez. It would help if I could spell “Automation” correctly!
So kind of you, Erin! I appreciate the support. And I appreciate the laugh I got from your “oh geez!”
I’m looking forward to reading and sharing your posts, Joan! Keep up the great work!
Looking forward to hearing what you have to say. I’ve really enjoyed the quality of your events and can’t wait to see what comes next.
Thanks, Jenn! That means a lot, coming from a fellow event planner. I have always enjoyed the Automation Alley events. I hope your new position is going well!
Joan, since this is our first blog, thought I would have a little fun and test out the reply component! As yourself, looking forward to chatting about all things entrepreneurial!
What I hope is the first comment of many on this blog. Thanks, Julie!
